ABOUT US

Sunny & Company can trace it's modest beginnings in 1993 to a flea market booth in Orlando, Florida where owner Eddie Zhu designed and marketed a furry wrap-around puppet called "Cool Cat." This first design was improved and expanded to a brand-new design called "Hairy Gibbon." These small and large Gibbon Wrap-Around puppets with their colorful fur, comical faces and expressive gestures were an immediate success and soon other retailers were ordering them in large numbers.

Small Hairy Gibbons came in many colors

Like the Gibbons, these folically challenged Grandfathers come in more than one style.

But along with the increased demand, came a desire for more variety. So Eddie designed his first "human-style" wrap-around puppets, a Grandmother and Grandfather. Then, in 1996, came a completely new type of puppet, the Full-Body Hand Puppet. Rather than with long legs that attach around the puppeteer's waist, these new, more proportional puppets were designed to be carried and operated like a Ventriloquist would operate his dummy. This new line of puppets was an instant success and soon Sunny & Company was distributing an ever-increasing inventory of them in both large and small (Glove Puppet) sizes. Eddie also designed a line of large and small marionettes that carried on what had now become the Sunny & Company tradition of
ease-of use, comical attractive appearance and low cost. The new string puppets came in every style from colorful Flamingos to Horses, Lions, Tigers and Zebras too. In 2001, Sunny & Company added new lines of realistic Animal Hand Puppets and small stuffed Animal toys. Recent additions to the Sunny & Company line include a series of beautiful Full-Body Hand Puppets depicting Christian characters from the Bible, and a collection of Medieval characters including a King and his Royal Family. These puppets have fully sculptured faces and very fine detailed clothing of the period.

Today, still located in Orlando, Florida, Sunny & Company Toys, Inc. is a world-wide distributor of deluxe puppets and plush animal toys.
